Outdated Lithuanian Litas (LTL)

Withdrawn Currency

The Lithuanian Litas (LTL) served as Lithuania’s national currency until the country adopted the euro in 2015.

Throughout its circulation, several series of Litas banknotes were issued, featuring prominent Lithuanian cultural figures, national symbols, and imagery reflecting the country’s landscapes, heritage, and economic development.

Later issues showcased modern security features and refined designs, while earlier notes carried traditional layouts typical of late‑20th‑century European banknote printing.

All Litas notes were officially withdrawn from circulation following the euro transition, though many remain in private hands, often found in stored belongings, travel documents, or family estates.

At Thecurrencycounter.co.uk, we accept a wide range of withdrawn Lithuanian Litas notes, including early paper issues, transitional designs, and denominations no longer seen in circulation.

If your specific note isn’t listed on our site, you’re welcome to get in touch — we may still be able to help.
