Outdated Israeli Pound (ILP)

Withdrawn Currency

The Israeli Pound (ILP), also known as the Israeli Lira, was Israel’s official currency from 1948 until it was replaced by the Shekel in 1980.

Over its lifetime, several series were issued, featuring national leaders, early state symbols, and designs reflecting Israel’s development during its formative decades.

These notes were gradually withdrawn from circulation as Israel transitioned first to the Shekel and later to the New Shekel.

Although no longer legal tender, many Israeli Pound notes still exist in private hands, often discovered in old travel wallets, family belongings, or long‑stored documents.

At Thecurrencycounter.co.uk, we accept a wide range of withdrawn Israeli Pound notes, including early paper issues and denominations no longer seen in circulation.

If your specific note isn’t listed on our site, you’re welcome to get in touch — we may still be able to help.
