Outdated Brazilian Cruzados (BRC)

Withdrawn Banknotes

The Brazilian Cruzado (BRC) was Brazil’s official currency during the late 1980s, introduced as part of a major economic reform aimed at controlling hyperinflation.

Issued by the Banco Central do Brazil, Cruzado banknotes featured prominent Brazilian cultural figures, national wildlife, and artistic motifs typical of the era.

Although the Cruzado was short‑lived — replaced first by the Cruzado Novo and later by the modern Real — many of these notes still retain redeemable value.

Today, they are no longer legal tender, but they remain widely collected and can still be exchanged.

At Thecurrencycounter.co.uk, we accept a broad range of outdated Brazilian Cruzado notes, including early issues, transitional designs, and denominations no longer recognised in everyday circulation.

If your specific note isn’t listed on our site, feel free to get in touch — we may still be able to help.
